Soaking up the Sun

11x17 digital painting of Robert Reynolds, the powerful Sentry. Emulating sunshine has always been a challenge for me and this one was no different. Nevertheless I went for it as I wanted to show him absorbing the sun giving him power. I went for brighter colors and a three point perspective as he floats above the skyscrapers of New York. Comic style was used because it's classic. As a character that struggles with the darkness inside him, I decided to focus on the light side of him as he seeks to be a hero and master himself.
