In creating this charcoal drawing, I aimed to show a Jedi master and his reliance on the Force that resonate with the core themes of the Jedi philosophy: balance, serenity, and the pursuit of knowledge. The contrast between the dark tones of the charcoal and the light of the Grandmaster’s spirit symbolizes the perpetual struggle between light and dark, a central theme in the narrative of the Jedi Order. With one outstretched hand he pushes back the darkness and with lightsaber in hand stands firm, steady. Ready for war.
